The HEIDELBERGER PÄDAGOGIUM
was established in 1969 as a public spirited educational institution by two high school teachers aiming to lead young people firmly through their daily school routine. Today, the institute is one of the most renowned non profit service enterprises in Heidelberg and is engaged in a multitude of measures with currently over 70 socially committed teachers serving educational and scientific training as well as continuing and vocational training:
school accompanying measures
- Homework supervision
- Individual tutoring in all school subject areas for all grades
- Retraining and/or reintegration assistance
- Special exam preparatory courses (school leaving exams, end-of-year exams, preparation for academic intermediate and final exams)
Scientific advanced training
- Classical courses for university students to acquire the necessary knowledge of Latin and classic Greek
- complementing courses in mathematics, biology and chemistry for university students
Further vocational training
- German classes for foreigners (full time, mornings and night classes, all levels reaching from alphabetization to DSH-preparation), alphabetization courses
- lIntegration courses German as a foreign language (through the Federal Office for Migration)
- Foreign languages (English, French, Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Portugese, Lithuanian etc.)
Individual crash courses or small groups
- Business language training (English, French, Spanish)
- Vocational training -accompanying assistance with social-pedagogical support for socially disadvantaged young people
