INSURANCE

German visa regulations require health insurance coverage for the entire duration of your stay. The average costs are around 30 € per month. We work with two different insurance agencies, but you are free to choose.

LIVING EXPENSES IN HEIDELBERG

To give students an idea of the living costs in Germany, we have made up an example:

Course fees
€ 370
Books
~ € 30
Rent (all incl.)
~ € 350
Health insurance coverage (EC noncitizens)
€ 30
Food
~ € 300
Transportation
(bus, tram, etc.)
~ € 75
Total ca.:
~ € 1,155

This is the minimum monthly amount necessary. Living costs certainly depend on one's personal lifestyle, but students should have no less than this amount available. Non EU-students with a language-course visa are not allowed to work in Germany!
